SLAJ President Elect Alhaji Manika Kamara Remarks at Orientation Program for Incoming Executive

Friday 4th July, 2025; Kenema City   President-Elect’s Remarks             Vision Statement Greetings… Thank you, Preso De Monk, Preso Umaru, Preso Kelvin and thanks to the entire SLAJ family for the trust you have placed in me. Our next chapter is defined by A.C.T.I.O.N.: Advocacy, Commitment, Transparency, Innovation, Organisation, and Networking. We are building on solid foundations: your work, your sacrifices, and now we must deliver deeper impact.  From advocating for the enactment of Chapter 12 on media freedom to protecting journalists' welfare; from professionalising our operations to leveraging innovation and AI, my administration is ready to lead SLAJ with heart, clarity, and purpose. My vision is for a united, professional, inclusive SLAJ that is respected at home and abroad. A SLAJ that champions media independence, empowers its members, and acts boldly, always.
