Bombali Shebora’s hopes of winning the NERFA Super-10 unbeaten end with defeat against Ocean Boys

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  With barely six more games left for each of the nine participating teams to complete the ongoing North East Region Football Association’s maiden Men’s Super-10 championship, the time was ripe to determine whether current league leaders Bombali Shebora FC’s unbeaten. But the Makeni based high flying side has failed to beat their Ocean Boys FC’s counterparts twice this season to win the much trumpeted first ever NERFA Men’s Super-10 Championship, after bowing 1-0 last Sunday at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni. The defeat was after Shebora’s 1-1 draw with Yoni Shooting Stars who currently sits second behind them and the win was the first for “the Blue and White Boys” who had successively lost 3-1 to Dogoloya and Makelleh Football Clubs their clash with current league leaders saw them seek revenge of their 1-0 defeat they had suffered in the first round of the tournament. Patricia Umu Strikers FC’s Founder historically secures home-pitch for her North-West Female Soccer-Powerhouse Side

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  Madam Patricia Umu Dankay Brown, the founder and owner of Kambia District based female football outfit, Patricia Umu Strikers Football Club of Kambia has historically secured a training pitch for her North-West Female soccer powerhouse, becoming the second team after Katara Ladies Football Club of Rokupr to own a training arena in the entire district. The newly unveiled pitch is situated at Olivani Street in Kambia Town, Kambia District in the Northwestern region of Sierra Leone just a few meters near the Kolenten Senior Secondary School premises. Players and officials of the club as well as officials of of the local Football Federation(KDFA) and residents of the area have welcomed the development which they believed will help to keep female football alive in the district.
