By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Seven weeks since Sierra Leone’s first ever National Women’s League Kickoff at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni on October 15, the race for the Goal Queen Award is proving to be very competitive amongst players of the 12 participating teams. After 84 games played so far, 42 players of all the participating teams have netted at least a goal to add their names respectively to the score sheet but the healthy race remains tighter among Kahulan Queens Football Club’s duos Matilda Kabba and Adama Jalloh who now leads the race with 7 and 10 goals scored accordingly in 7 games played. Earlier it was Matilda Kabba who netted the League’s opener against Mena Queens Football Club that was leading the race but her teammate Adama Jalloh who has been involved in the team’s last 13 goals scored over the weekend passed Matilda on 2nd place with three goals separating them.
