The former president Koroma was emphatically serious about correcting that anomaly but forces around him supplanted that. The manner in which development projects are being implemented is outrageous and deceiving. Most projects implemented are either unfinished or sub standard. One such example is the Conteh Street Culvert. This Culvert is a good example of excellent waste. The Conteh Street Culvert ruptures few months after it was commissioned. Why: Sub standard work. Why Sub standard work: monitoring was either lacking or compromised. Why: the construction company, Polly Construction, takes ownership identity from a known stakeholder and then power broker. Just few weeks ago, Makeni City Council tendered for the reconstruction of the ruptured culvert. This is outrightly wrong. Those responsible must answer few questions. This is an era of accountability....
