SLSDWA to hold General Assembly in October

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson October 23, 2021 has been set aside as the date for the General Assembly of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association to commence, the Association’s Secretary General Mohamed Turay on Monday, 23rd August, 2021 confirmed. Turay says notifications have been sent to the Federation International de Nation (FINA), and all members of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association regarding the General Assembly as required by the constitution of the Association. “The General Assembly will take place in Freetown but the actual venue is to be decided and will be eventually publicized,” he added.  The General Assembly is where delegates of the SLSDWA usually elect their Executive members into various positions of office for a period of 48 months per term and ahead of the October 23, Elective Congress nominations of the members for the post of President, Vice President, Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General as well as Women’s Rep...

Swimming Association Gets Le 199.2 Million Government Support

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson The Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association-(SLSDWA) has received the sum of One Hundred and Ninety-nine Million, Two Hundred and Eleven Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Three Thousand Leones (Le 199,211,843), the National Sports Authority-(NSA) announced on Monday. Presser further reads: “It could be recalled that the association, as part of its preparation for the delayed 2020 Olympic Games in Japan sent a budget to the Ministry of Finance through the NSA for the facilitation of two international trainings in South Africa and Italy respectively.
