BDFA U-15 Men’s Championship Preliminary Kick-off on June 24

​ By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  The anticipated preliminary for the proposed Bombali District Football Association-(BDFA) U-15 Men’s Championship begins on Friday, 24th June, 2020 with all matches scheduled to take place at the Wusum Stadium. The matches are already lined up to be played on the opening day in  a knockout format. On match day one, Kin Football Club, BWB Academy and AZ-Foundation football Club will respectively battle Iron Metal Football Club, Fothal and Mena Stars Football Club at 8:00am, 10:30am and 4:30pm local time at the same venue while Rogbaneh Strikers, Sektars United and Sierra Avengers will respectively battle their Santino Football Club, Young Moon Light and Korombo Football Club opponents at 8:30am, 10:30am and 10:30am in match day 2 and 3 during the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. Sierra Leone slips 5 places down in latest Men’s Ranking

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, the nation’s senior men’s team have dropped five places downwards from 108th to 113th place in the World, and now ranked as the 25th Best team in Africa, according to the FIFA/Coca Cola latest Men’s National Teams Ranking. As of last March, John Edward Keister’s side slipped one place downwards from 107th to 108th with a total points of 1173.89 but have scored 5.68 points less to drop five place downwards and currently occupy 113th place globally with a total point of 1168.21. The ranking did not come as a surprise as many sports pundits had since predicted a drop for the side guided by the former East End Lions and FC Johansen technician following the nation’s 2-1 defeat to Nigeria and its 2-2 draw against Guinea Bissau in their Group-A qualifier matches for the 2023-TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
