By: Alusine Rehme Wilson The race among eight teams that advanced from their various district qualifiers to the North East regional playoff of its four districts of Bombali, Falaba, Koinadugu and Tonkolili will commence on Monday in Magburaka. One of Group A’s hot favorites Golden Dragons of Tonkolili, a former Premier League side will welcome their opponent Puna FC from Falaba in the opening match of the 2023 regional playoffs which also serves as the qualifiers to the National Playoff for the available three slots up for grab by the first division teams that will gain promotion to the national championship. The following day two matches are lined up for 4.p.m in Magburaka and Makeni respectively between the other Group-A teams Kholifa Stars of Tonkolili and Umar FC of Falaba while two of Group-B opponents Bombali Sebora of Bombali and Bintumani Scorpions of Koinadugu will face each in their group opener.
