BY : ABU BAKARR KAMARA (Dr. Love the Phoenix) A nation bleeding Fifty-eight years old, still creeping Drenched in selfishness, could do nothing to prevent Bribery and self-interest our daily occurrences As if there are no more events Forsaken at the clutches of death Countrymen busy accumulating wealth Mouths of pleasantries! In need of power they come humble at your doorsteps Reaching their goals unveil their true selves Go deaf and blind to all the problems They come empty Yet project like gods Robing citizens to poverty They feel like gods Ah Sierra Leone! What a shame on a nation! Are we happy in this situation? Country's existence and honor is at stake Still brave minds are not wake No one cares for another, survival is at stake We mourn deaths and celebrate with cake We expect more suffering if we remain unconcerned Prioritizing our priorities we should be concerned Too much promises but who knows when?
