UEFA Executive, others join Northern Region Movie Makers for candle parade in honor of late NORMMAL President

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Executive Members of the Union of Eastern Film Agency-(UEFA), Actors, Actresses and movie Directors from various districts in Sierra Leone on Thursday evening converged in the Northern city of Makeni, enjoined scores of movie makers in the Northern Region for a candle parade in honor the former President of the Northern Region Movie Makers Agency-(NORMMAL) late Elijah Musa Deen.  Between the hours of 20:00 to 21:00 hours, the candle parade started at the Saint Francis Secondary School gate along the Azzolini-Magburaka highway and film makers paraded the some main streets in Makeni such as the Lunsar, Mabanta, Dr. Vincent Kanu and Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma Road enroute to the late man’s Grace Land resident where they joined family members, church members from the Winners Chapel and other sympathizers for a night vigil.  Film makers interviewed said they have also staged earlier parades in other parts of the country for two other departed movie makers namely: Idrissa...

Rising Queens shining in StarBurst Park Equal Opportunity Women’s Trophy 3rd Edition

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Defending Champions of the StarBurst Park Equal Opportunity Trophy, Rising Queens Football Club who won the tournament’s last edition in February are busy renouncing their dominance after winning all their group games and are now through to the grand finals which will commence on March 26, 2022 at the Makama Sports Complex.  Rising Queens Football Club started their second search for the StarBurst Park Equal Opportunity Women’s Trophy on high not after beating tournament debutants Born and Raised Football Club 3-0 on March, 7 and a week later humbled Konsho Football Club who is also newcomers into the Women’s monthly football champion 2-0 at the Makama Sports complex.  The two successive victories for Rising Queens has earned them a ticket in the grand finals but will now have to wait until Saturday, March, 19 when Konsho Football Club and Born and Raised Football Club will lock horns at 4:30pm local time at the Makama Sports Complex in Makeni city, Northeaster...

Debutants set to battle for StarBurst Park Equal opportunity 3rd Edition’s final spots

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Despite losing their tournament’s opener to defending champions Rising Queens Football Club, debutants Konsho Football Club and Born and Raised Football Club hopes are still alive ahead of their 4:30pm clash on Saturday, 19th March, 2022 at the Makama Sports Complex in Makeni city, Northeastern Sierra Leone for the StarBurst Park Equal Opportunity 3rd edition’s final spot.  The crunch debutants semi-final encounter will determine the other finalist that will join Rising Queens Football Club for the grand finals of the StarBurst Park Equal Opportunity 3rd edition monthly Women’s championship.  Meanwhile, a barren or 1-1 draw on Saturday will see Born and Raised Football Club that currently sit second on the championship log joining Rising Queens Football Club for the finals while a defeat or 2-1 will see them lose the chance to the finals to current bottom place team Konsho Football Club who needs to avoid a defeat at all cost should they wish to progress to the...
