SSS-II Pupils at St. Francis Developed Electronic Lamborghini Prototype from Scraps

Kamara, both SSS-II Science pupils attending the Saint Francis Secondary School in Makeni city, Bombali District , Northeastern Sierra Leone recently showcased at the school premises their newly developed electric Lamborghini prototype from scrap materials. The prototype they've developed is rechargeable and is regulated by a Play station-3 like keypad connected to the car through a long black cable which allows an operator to move the toy car back and forth with a flood of lights in the front on the middle top and back of the prototype car all shining bright immediately, the power button is being pressed to switch it on. ​December Women’s National Teams World Ranking: Sierra Leone still at 138th out of 185 Nations

By: alusinerehme.wilson@awokonewspaper.sl    For the third time since August, the Senior Women’s National Team of Sierra Leone nicknamed “Sierra Queens” has failed to make any improvements in the global  ranking of the FIFA/Coca Cola Women’s National Football Teams, the team has been ranked 136th out of 185th Nations according to a December 9 ranking.  The top five Nations are USA, Germany, Sweden, England and France while Madagascar, Angulilla, Turks and Caicos Islands, South Sudan and Mauritius are rock bottom on 181, 182, 183, 184 and 185 places respectively. From being ranked 136th in respectively in March and June this year, the Sierra Queens of Sierra Leone are still stuck at 138th globally but 22nd in the African continent behind Guinea, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and their Gambian Counterparts with Nigeria(45), South Africa(54), Cameroon(58) Ghana(59) and Cote d’Ivoire(65) leading the continental ranking as the top best Senior National Women’s Football Teams. ...

13th EBK-Trophy Last Eight: Golden Dragons FC eliminates Hadit FC

​ By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  Tournament debutants and Masombrie village based soccer outfit Hadit FC 's hope of reaching this year's semi finals for the very first time was cut short on Friday after bowing 2-0 to former Sierra Leone Premier League side Golden Dragons of Magburaka at its mini stadium on Friday. The host who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hadit FC in  the first leg encounter of the ongoing 13th edition of the EBK-Trophy, regrouped for and proved too strong for the visitors in the return leg, as they wasted no time to take the lead just five minutes on in the first half, and resisted all pressure from Hadit FC whose late defensive mistake saw them to conceive a second goal that was just enough for Golden Dragons Football Club to advance to the last four of the competition on a 2-1 aggregate.
