A team of Police officers headed by Assistant Inspector General of Police North-West, AIG Jorwulor Ansumana Gbonnoh including the Resident Minister North-West Honorable HajaIsata Fatmata Abdulai Koroma upon a tip-off information went to Mayorsor Village in the Makonteh Section, Bureh Chiefdom in the Port Loko District wherein they were able to discovered five hundred and seventy six (576) assorted bags of fertilizers stolen from the Sierra Leone Agriculture store at Banthorng in Port Loko District. Environment Protection Agency and partners on Thursday 14th, March 2019 at the Makeni City Council Multipurpose Hall has engaged Stakeholders in a day’s workshop as part of the Agency’s nationwide tours to Develop a National Action Plan for Mercury Reduction and Sustainable Development for Sierra Leone in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining Sector. Top military Personnel of the Republic of Sierra Leone Arm Forces (RSLAF) and stakeholders within and outside Makeni, have colourfully decorated 11 newly promoted gallant gentlemen officers at the premises of the 4th infantry brigade, situated at Teko road in Makeni Bombali District, Northern Sierra Leone. The decoration ceremony was staged few days after correspondences were sent to various brigades in the country informing them about the promotion of certain officers to the rank of Captains and Majors respectively. The promotion cut across regions in the country, with officers promoted from almost all the brigades in the country.
