Both teams confirmed their places in the regional qualifiers of the first-ever African Schools Championship, a flagship project of Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of Football-(CAF). In the Boys category, Saint Francis (the Parish School Boys) defeated Rose of Sharon Junior Secondary School 5-4 on post game penalty shootouts after both sides finished as the top two schools teams from the Bombali District preliminary. On the other hand, Makeni Comprehensive Academy edged Sylvanus Municipal Junior Secondary School Girls Team 5-3 on post game penalty after playing to a goalless ninety minutes.
