Mena Queens beat Koya Queens 2-1 to stamp first home win in Women’s League

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  Mena Queens Football Club secured their first home win in the ongoing first-ever National Women’s League, as they dislodged visitors Koya Queens from Mile 38 at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni 2-1 over the weekend. It was gifted forward Sarah Turay who opened the scoring for the host in the first half and 10 minutes on her teammate Marian doubles the lead but Koya Queens forward Gbassay Kamara stamped a perfect finish before the quarter hour mark to end the match played on Saturday on high. The win is Mena Queens second in the ongoing maiden National Women’s in a row since they collected all three points away from Albitaya Queens FC of Kabala on October 29.
