Youth Activist, Researcher and Multimedia Journalist working with Northern Times Newspaper has bagged a prestigious gold customized Award as the Best Print Sport Journalist of the year 2020, setting the new record of being the first ever Provincial Nominee in the sports category to win the award which is annually organized by the National Entertainment Award in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and other partners.
The young, result oriented and promising Journalist was nominated alongside experienced Sports Journalists: Alpha Barrie Alpha, Alie Bittar, Bernard Turay, Sahr Morris Jr. and Bockarie Alieu in the Best Print Sports Journalist category of the 4th edition of the National Entertainment Award.
Rehme’s nomination was well embraced and supported by his colleagues in the media, fans and followers within and across Sierra Leone who widely shared his nomination flyer in multiple social media platforms, no wonder he won the title with 50 percent letting the five other nominees shared the remaining 50 percent.
At the end of the voting process, Mr. Wilson made a wide margin win over his competitors with 50% of the total votes cast in his favour and the remaining percentage was shared amongst the five other nominees.
Few weeks after collecting his proud certified award, he later went to Freetown on January 8, 2021 and collected his customized Award trophy which bears his name, award category and the noble institution he represents (Northern Times Newspaper).
Alusine described the Award as one of the many Awards bagged and a signal to a glorious ending of 2020 and an inspiration to his journalist journey.
Alusine Rehme Wilson is one of the young great men in Makeni City whose passion in transforming and promoting other’s lives is key and well known.

This newly launched medical facility, comprising 11 treatment rooms, was developed with the support of Southeastern Medical International (SMI) and the Concord Christian Church. Their mission is to deliver compassionate healthcare and a range of medical services to the people of Bombali District and surrounding areas, with a particular focus on war victims and vulnerable families living in the Asker Amputee Camp at Robureh.
