Two of the most consistent and popular indigenous musicians nationwide, Internet Man of Makeni and Slim-G D’Viper of Lunsar will face each other live later today at the Makeni city plaza in a microphone battle initiated jointly by the Elected President and Executive members of the Makeni Disc Jockeys Union.

President of the DJ’s Union in Makeni Alpha Mohamed Kabia alias “DJ Dustman'' has confirmed that the anticipated microphone battle will take place in the evening hours of today, (12th November, 2021) and the event will begin at 8:00pm local time.

“This contest will be our maiden event since I was voted into office some two months ago. For sure it will be bigger considering the fact that the two contenders namely Internet Man-(Orkurmoh) and Slim-G D’Vipder-(Orkurgba) are presently unarguably the finest indigenous musicians nationwide, which is why we have resolved as a union to present them to their supporters in a live microphone challenge that for their devotes to join us and cut short the age long argument of who is the best indigenous star among the two top notch musicians,” he explained.

He further told Awoko Newspaper that his membership have lined up a number of similar contests to be announced in the coming months but they have done all the groundwork and modalities have all been put in place for today’s show to be enticing and very historic.

“Yes! this musical battle will be our first of many and because we love what we do as DJs the entrance fee for this one in a million musical contest is just ten thousand Leones-(Le 10,000) per person, he replied when asked about ticket price for their maiden event which currently remains the most talked off event in the Northern Region.

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
