On Wednesday, June 8, Advocacy for Mental Health and Rehabilitation Sierra Leone-(AMHRe-SL), a newly established non-governmental organization successfully organized an inaugural training for its Staff to better orientate them on the organization’s ambition and to jointly draft an activity plan moving forward.

The day’s training took place at the premises of the Future View Multimedia Center on Azzolini Highway in Makeni city, Northern, Sierra Leone and was rolled out in two separate sessions, facilitated by two mental health experts; Mr. Gift Abubakarr Deen Kamara and Mr. Desmond Tholley.

A total number of eight AMHRe-SL staff including Margret Deen Kamara-(Client’s Manager) and Daniel Anthony Kamara-(Research officer) benefited from the inaugural training which also serves as an orientation meeting.

Mohamed Simbo Kamara, the Founder and Country Director of Advocacy for Mental Health and Rehabilitation Sierra Leone says he’s pleased by "the high level of intelligence shown by his staff" during the training, describing it as “a perfect start.”

“For us as we look forward to working as a team to help tackle the increasing rate of mental health diseases within and across Bombali District, provide mental health counseling services to our prospective clients, at the same time work to help rehabilitate the seemingly broken lives of persons affected with mental health diseases.”
