The clumsy traffic congestion at NP area on Azzolini highway in Makeni:

NP area in Makeni city has effectively become a clumsy traffic congested area with huge vulnerability to accidents. Visiting NP or passing through in a given day presents organized chaos and traffic disorder very much symptomatic of reckless and lawless conduct by drivers, Okada riders and Omorlankay pushers much to the discomfort, displeasure and calculated accident risks to other road users.

What is more disheartening is the chronic lethargy of the Sierra Leone Police to control the reckless menace.

I have brought this to the notice of the police via audio sometime in the remote past but no action was taken or attempted taken.

As the Catholic mission is erecting a perimeter fence, some ill will and lawless drivers are backfilling the constrained and raped right of way to create a makeshift parking space. This is done in broad day light and at the glare of the police.

NP is the entry point to Makeni city and as a result the first impression of a first time visitor to Makeni is sour and despicable.

I would like to remind the police of their duty to control the menace.

A similar hopeless situation is observed at the Independence square (Clock Tower) where traders have colonized the area. But this is an issue for another day.

With a new AIG (on second coming) and a Local Unit Commander, we can hope for an immediate remedy.
