Leone Rock ‘One Nation’ Gala: Group A’ semifinalists race on high

  This Wednesday’s  15th February 2023 match between Western Area Rural and Southern region in Waterloo is crucial not only for the two teams but also for the Northeast region. The match will determine whether the Northeast region will progress to the semifinals of the Leone Rock Metal Group in the Inter regional one nation football tournament. As it stands, the Northeast region is at the top of Group A with three points and two goals, followed closely by the Southern region with three points and one goal. The Western Area Rural team is currently third in the group with no points. The match between Western Area Rural and Southern region is expected to be highly competitive, with both teams fighting for a place in the semifinals. Like it’s celebrated in Ireland every February 1, the Network Movement for Justice and Development-(NMJD), Local Women’s Group, nine Makeni secondary school pupils including Hearing Impaired pupils enjoined key stakeholders, Trocaire, the embassy of Ireland in Sierra Leone among others to observe the day in the Northeastern regional city. Sea Side Rangers Unveil 2023 Training Kits

The brief ceremony which took place at the Kandeh Town Community in Bo attracted club executive, technical staff, players, and some supporters. The eye-catching yellow and deep blue jersey features the club crest coupled with beautiful designs and numbering. Ibrahim Sidi Turay one of the club managers whilst officially presenting the kits to the club greatly appreciated the coaches and players for holding the forth despite the challenges.  "I am extremely pleased to unveiled our new training kit today. The August 10 protest aftermath: Family of young advocate allegedly on the run for his safety, in frantic search for their relative

By: Charles Conteh, Guest Writer The aftermath of the well-known uprising that occurred on August 10, six months ago, continues to be a painful experience for the Sesay family in Black Hall, a suburb in Sierra Leone’s capital city, Freetown, as well as in the towns of Makeni, Lungi, and Kamakwie in the Northern provinces. The Sesay family say they’re devastated over the sudden disappearance of their son, Sheik Umar Sesay, who went missing last August whom they have not seen or heard from him for over six months. What adds to their distress they say is a recent raid conducted by the police on their house, resulting in the destruction of his property, but the police claim that Sheik as a suspect is wanted to face further interrogation for allegedly inciting youth to participate in the August 10 demonstration protesting against the high cost of living.
