It might raise eyebrows to think that a skilled welder would take delight in supporting a local football club, but 29-year-old welder Alhaji Kamara from Bo has discovered immense joy in supporting his hometown team, Bo Rangers.
In just three years, Kamara has become a prominent figure among football enthusiasts in Sierra Leone, known for his passionate support of Bo Rangers. His distinctive slogan, “Booooooohooooo…,” makes it hard for anyone to believe that he is a skilled welder.
Kamara’s love for Bo Rangers has made him a well-known figure in the Sierra Leone football scene. During Bo Rangers matches, whether home or away, he can be seen roaming the stadiums, passionately shouting, “Ya Na Booooooohooooo….” His voice becomes even louder when his team is winning but can quickly turn to tears if his team faces defeat.
Kamara, who voluntarily embraced supporting his hometown club, believes that “supporting the stars you know is meaningful and beneficial for societal growth.” His dedication has earned him recognition among Bo Rangers supporters and even outshone officially signed supporters.
In a recent interview at the Bo Stadium, Kamara shared that supporting Bo Rangers brings him great excitement, and what excites him even more is that other Bo Rangers supporters now readily respond to his slogan, “Booooooohooooo…”
While Kamara is a skilled welder, not even the income from his welding job can deter him from attending Bo Rangers’ matches. His passion for supporting Bo Rangers is so intense that he would emotionally cry when his team loses a match, despite his tough exterior. He remains hopeful that his team will succeed in future matches.
Kamara’s dedication has made him the favorite supporter of the moment. He is widely recognized by his slogan, and his influence is encouraging others to follow in his footsteps. Another supporter, Alhaji Sesay, also known as “Peter Czech,” who previously supported FC Kallon and joined Bo Rangers 34 months ago, has taken up the “Booooooohooooo…” slogan, joining Kamara in cheering for the team with great excitement.
