A2ESL doles out lofty educational succour for Ebola orphans in Bombali

Access to Education Sierra Leone (A2ESL) is a commendable organization led by Honorable Mohamed Papa Bangura of Bombali District, Sierra Leone. Since 2015, they have been tirelessly advocating for and financially supporting Ebola orphans and vulnerable children in the region. Earlier today, at the Masuba community center A2ESL conducted its annual Back to School program, which aimed to provide significant educational support to ninety Ebola victims from various villages in Bombali District, including Pate Bana, Masuba, and Makeni.
The educational support included a range of essential items such as cash assistance, school uniforms, books, pens, shoes, and backpacks. These items were distributed to students attending primary, junior, and secondary schools in the region. Many of these students have received similar support from the organization in the past. This year, more boys benefited from the program due to their superior academic performance in the previous academic year. The organization uses academic performance as one of the criteria for selecting beneficiaries. Honorable Bangura, an elected Member of Parliament for the All People's Congress (APC), highlighted the importance of education in his life, given his personal challenges after losing his father at a young age. He expressed his commitment to giving back to society by improving access to education, particularly in the northern region of Sierra Leone.
A2ESL's ultimate goal is to make education accessible to all children, regardless of their background. Honorable Bangura appealed for support from other philanthropists and humanitarian organizations to help students complete their tertiary education. The distribution of cash and material support took place at the Masuba community center and was attended by residents from various villages and towns in Bombali District, including local authorities and community leaders. They praised A2ESL and Honorable Mohamed Papa Bangura for their efforts in assisting deprived children and encouraged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously for a brighter future.
Alhaji Gibrilla, one of the recipients of the support, expressed gratitude on behalf of the other eighty-nine awardees. He has been receiving support from A2ESL since his parents passed away during the Ebola crisis and encouraged his fellow students to stay dedicated to their studies. He expressed hope for continued support from A2ESL. Generally, Access to Education Sierra Leone (A2ESL) and Honorable Mohamed Papa Bangura are making significant strides in improving access to education and providing much-needed support to Ebola orphans and vulnerable children in Bombali District, Sierra Leone. Their efforts are not only impacting the lives of individual students but also contributing to the broader goal of educational accessibility in the region. The total estimated cost of the support package provided by A2ESL was over forty-five thousand new Leones (NLe 45,000).
