German Doctors Reassures support to Commit & Act Foundation

Country Representative of German Doctors in Sierra Leone, Fanta Daboh has reassured the organization’s continued support to Commit and Act Foundation Sierra Leone.

Madam Daboh says “German Doctors are so far impressed with the implementation work Commit and Act Foundation Sierra Leone is doing in Bo, Bombali and Tonkolili District in-terms of combating rampant FGM practices and other Sexual and Gender Based Violence against teenage school going griots and women through the “My Body, My Rights Project”.

Continued saying: “The testimonies she’ve heard from beneficiaries of the “My Body, My Rights Project” are very positive to their work as donor.

“I want to categorically state that German Doctors as the Project donor we moved and therefore assure of another funding for the next 18 months for a project targeting to provide Sowies with livelihood support as well as proving Financial packages to local leaders involved in the practices of Female Genital Mutilation to establish Small Market Enterprises,” she emphatically said.

Madam Daboh was addressing a bunch of local stakeholders and 650 teenage school going girls from villages and towns in Bo, Bombali and Tonkolili districts as well as Sowies who did converge for two days at the Magburaka Boys School for the first-ever Girls conference hosted by Commit and Act Foundation Sierra Leone with funding from German Doctors on the theme: “Increasing Girls Participation in Addressing FGM.”

Where she wrapped up her adress with a blank on local partners, community stakeholders to come on board to support Commit and Act Foundation in their quest to protecting girls and preparing them the best way for the future.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
