Patricia Umu Strikers FC’s Founder historically secures home-pitch for her North-West Female Soccer-Powerhouse Side

Madam Patricia Umu Dankay Brown, the founder and owner of Kambia District based female football outfit, Patricia Umu Strikers Football Club of Kambia has historically secured a training pitch for her North-West Female soccer powerhouse, becoming the second team after Katara Ladies Football Club of Rokupr to own a training arena in the entire district.

The newly unveiled pitch is situated at Olivani Street in Kambia Town, Kambia District in the Northwestern region of Sierra Leone just a few meters near the Kolenten Senior Secondary School premises.

Players and officials of the club as well as officials of of the local Football Federation(KDFA) and residents of the area have welcomed the development which they believed will help to keep female football alive in the district.

Morlai Gbla, spokesman for the Kambia District Football Association-(KDFA) says the pitch size of of standard quality. “It’s equal in size to the sizes of national and international pitches.”

With the unveiling of the pitch last Sunday to players and officials of Patricia Umu Strikers Football Club, its is believed by followers of female football in the area that: “the latest development will help to boost the team confidence as they continue to prepare to compete in the proposed first-ever Sierra Leone Premier League at the same time will provide both female and males clubs an alternative playing ground.”

Yoni Chiefdom Crowns Journalist Richmond Tholley as Ceremonial Chief
