After donning the colors of Swiss second division side Neuchatel Xamax Football Club for 18 months, Former skipper of the Leone Stars Umaro Zangalay Bangura is now a free agent, effective Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Since joining the club in January, 2021 Bangura represented his former club 31 times across all major tournaments, although his spell there had not let him accomplish all he wanted but the Sierra Leonean international defender who is now free to join any club, believes “he still has more to offer on and off the pitch.”

Bangura is among the six players including Samuel Kasongo and Yannick who were loaned to Maladiere and two whose contracts with the Swiss side will not be extended following the end of their contracts with the club this summer, as was announced a week ago by the management of Neuchatel Xamax.
