APC’s Acting Chairman Yansanah: PPRC’s interpretation of Sam Sumsuman’s eligibility to contest is welcoming for fair play
The Acting Chairperson of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh has acknowledged receipt of the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) ruling that declared Sierra Leone’s former vice president Samuel Samsumana is eligible to contest for the flag bearer position in the APC.
According to Ambassador Yansaneh, his party had misinterpreted the former vice president as not being eligible to contest for position of flag bearer following his readmission to the APC in 2020, but stressed that it was worthy that the PPRC recent ruling has cleared Mr. Samsuman.
“The PPRC interpretation is of Samsumana’s eligibility to contest is welcoming for us a party committed to promoting fair play,” the Acting APC Chairperson remarked in-front of a large crowd at the Makeni Wusum Stadium on Christmas day during the grand finale of the EBK-Trophy 2025 edition.
He further said that, “I’m particularly pleased that the Samsumana episode is now laid to rest. He’s now into the race like every other aspiring APC presidential flag-bearer. Let’s accept him and all his colleagues contesting for the 2028 APC presidential candidate ticket because the ultimate goal in the end is for the APC to return to power in 2028.”
The acting APC chairperson concluded his remarks calling for calm and healthy contest among his party aspiring flag bearers and assured on behalf of his boss, Mr. Minkailu Mansaray, the APC Chairperson who has not been keeping up well that they’ll do their best as executive members to lead their party to glory.
