MFWA Announces Sierra Leonean Lawyer, two other speakers for "How to Avoid a Lawsuit" virtual Worship

Rising Sierra Leonean lawyer and human rights advocate, Paul Kamara, will be joining forces with colleagues from Gambia and Liberia today at 10:00 AM for a virtual workshop titled “How to Avoid Legal Suits.” 

Organized by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), the said workshop is designed to share crucial insights with journalists, human rights defenders, and activists.

Kamara, who is also a lecturer at the University of Makeni (UniMak), will be joined by fellow human rights advocates and legal experts, Neneh Cham and Sarnyenneh M. Dickson, representing Gambia and Liberia, respectively. 

The trio was officially announced as speakers by MFWA on Wednesday in anticipation of this significant workshop, which will take place via Zoom on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

The primary focus of the workshop, according to MFWA, will be on the legal frameworks relevant to Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Liberia. It aims to equip participants with practical tools and essential knowledge regarding the legal challenges frequently encountered by journalists, activists, and human rights defenders. 

MFWA emphasized that through the expertise of these seasoned lawyers, media professionals, and human rights activists, the workshop will delve into the specific legal hurdles faced in each country and provide effective strategies for navigating them. 

The session will also foster dialogue and interaction among attendees, allowing them to engage with the speakers and share their own experiences while posing questions about pertinent issues.

Paul Kamara’s participation in this high-level workshop showcases his dedication to amplifying the voices of the marginalized and advocating for the rights of vulnerable individuals and groups in Sierra Leone.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
