Makeni Artest Union Inaugurates New President

By: Amadu Wurie Timbo

It was all incredible on Saturday 16th October, 2021 at the Hall of the makeni City Council where many notable people including members of the Makeni Artist Union (MAU) met for the Inaugural ceremony of Daniel Yusif Tarawalie (Governor Blaq), the Union Newly Elected Leader.

Governor Blaq assumes leadership in the Union after devoted members of the MAU took to the poll and jointly voted him in as their new Leader in an Election conducted at the Makeni Wusum Field on Sunday August 29.

President Blaq’s 87 votes was enough to place him top over three others, including Incumbent Stunt Man who came second with a total votes of 52.

However, the event marked as Former President Stunt’s end of Governance, whose handing over of Staff speaks high volume of peace and hope for the new Administration. “Power is hard to gain, but becomes more difficult to hand-over. Its only takes the grace of God, good leadership and courage to get it all done.

I was expecting to serve you guys more, but so lucky to have served in that singular term with the very best of my ability. Indeed! Governor is my Junior Brother, my own Rapper and President who deserves the best support of us all. Wishing you the very best.”

After receiving the Staff which indicates the beginning of his two years of Leadership, President Blaq in his statement expressed gratitude to the outgoing President for the peaceful and successful power transition.
He further elatedly spread out his dearest appreciation to his reliable voters for wholeheartedly relying on him to carry the Union’s mantle of leadership and assured all to live up to expectations in order to fulfil his dreams and maintain the work of his Predecessors.

He stressed out that, Musicians must desist from associating themselves in all forms of politics and treat their Music trade with respect, love and dignity as the only way they can find the music world payable.

“Let me now end my speech by urging colleagues in this Union to join hands on desk and support my vision for the betterment of the association and us all.” He said.

Finally, he timely announced Internet Man, CLJ, Lady Nacy, Daddy K, Augustine Jay Tee, Brennard, Engineer Sanja, Grandpa Kam and many more as his newly appointed Board members.  An event followed by the swearing in ceremony of the President and his Appointees.

England's all-time head-to-head record shows that they’ve played a whopping 1072 matches against 100 countries, won 615 games, drew 255, and lost 200. Senegal, on the other hand, is one of Africa’s most famous football nations, nicknamed the “Lions of Teranga.” In 2002, ...

Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
