Sierra Leone maintains 108th in FIFA Men’s Ranking

The nation’s total score remained at 1174.12 since last November, it’s the second time in the same year, Sierra Leone has failed to score more points in the global ranking after maintain the same place 114th in April and May respectively. However, Sierra Leone is the 23rd best men’s team in Africa leading one of their AFCON Group-E opponents Equatorial Guinea on 33rd place behind their two other group opponents Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire on 4ht and 8th place respectively. The latest men’s ranking by the world football governing body means more work is needed to be done should Sierra Leone desire to overcome their Group-E best two opponents (Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire) according to the FIFA/Coca Cola ranking whom they will correspondingly face on 11th and 16th January before going against Equatorial Guinea four days later in their AFCON Group-E race en route to the continent’s largest football showpiece next rounds and eventually the grand finale. Meanwhile, Sierra Leone’s Men highest ranking was in August 2014 when it was ranked 50th best men’s team globally, that was merely seven years after the nation was ranked 172nd in September 2007 marking its worst ranking so far. Nevertheless, World leaders Belgium, 1st place remained unchanged with a total score of 1832.33 the same points since last month. In another development, Sierra Leone’s Women team remains on 135th place with 1073.89 points behind Singapore-(1074.76) and Guinea-(1078.56) in the FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking.
