APC’s Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya concludes provincial tour, calls for unity at Bye-Elections

By: Abdul Aziz Samura

Hopeful National Secretary-General aspirant of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party, Lansana Dumbuya Esq, has wrapped up his provincial tour after visiting  bye-election places and urged his party’s stakeholders, grassroots, and sympathizers to stand firm, united and reserve their energy to make gains in the upcoming general elections.

He commended his visit from Sunday, 19th Friday to 24th June 2022, in Bo, Kenema, Port Loko, Bombali, Tonkolili, and Karene districts.

What is noticeable to all his outreach tours around the country is the over-enthusiasm of senior party supporters who are undoubtedly convinced that Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya is the National Secretary-General in waiting. As former Youth Minister and Ambassador to the Iran Republic, Almammy Kamara puts it “he is the right man for that seat, and it is now an establish phenomenon that his popularity is systematic”.

In his statement, Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya submits his commitment to the party’s stakeholders and supporters working closely to make sure that victory is assured in all the bye-elections ranging from; Samaia Bendugu parliamentary election to ward elections in Blama, Rogberray and Kamakwe all in the east and northern regions of the country.

“Let us reserve our energy and strength for our opponent and not ourselves. The June 2023 general elections is fast approaching and gone are the days for political in-fight among one another”.

At the different bye-elections areas, the hopeful National Secretary-General committed financial support to the APC’s election management teams and robustly engaged in electoral sensitization, and optimistically installed the party’s symbol, which shows a sign of victory for the party.

“My tour is not only focusing on my ambition to run for the APC National Secretary General seat but also to make visible my presence in meeting voters on their doorsteps, in order for them to be optimistic and have the enthusiasm to defend the party through the ballot box. Voters must come out in their numbers to exercise their franchise this Saturday,” he said.

Speaking to the crowd indeed like a Secretary-General in waiting, the learned Dumbuya warned supporters not to take their eyes off the ball, calling on them to go out and register come this September as that is the only way they can ‘kick’ what he described as ‘failed’ SLPP government out of power and restore the country back from where they left it.

“Please, 2023 is a deciding factor for us,” he appealed, saying: “It is 2023 that will make or break Sierra Leone. And we should not continue to be where we are now. It would help if you stopped taking monies they give you and feel it is okay, hence accept the dire condition and backwardness other political parties are taking us to,” he cautioned.

In return, these visited areas' supporters if anything showed the rest of the world how to welcome a visionary leader. The welcome by these supporters and even residents was one of a kind-extravagant in style and well organized.
