Abandoned Corpse left Masuba Residents in Shock

Residents residing in Masuba community, an outskirt of the city of Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone said that: “they are still in shock upon discovering an abandoned corpse of an unidentified male with blood oozing from some parts of the deceased body on Monday morning.”

On conditions of animosity residents residing near the area (the Masuba School field) where the corpse was found said, they did not hear any strange voice nor a sound in the midnight hours leading to Monday, 4th July, 2022 and are shocked to have discovered an unidentified dead body of a male lying near their houses.

“We’re truly worried about this strange occurrence at a time like this when there are rampant reports of thefts and armed robbery attacks in the municipality of Makeni, only God knows would have led to this tragedy but our ears are with the Police whom we have reported to about this strange happening and as a community we await their uncompromising investigation,” they further stated.

On a prompt follow up made with the Police at Panlap where the community had reported about the abandoned corpse, PC Ishamial Jalloh, the Information Officer at the unit confirmed to AWE-Media.SL that, they (the Police) have swiftly responded to the community call from residents of Masuba, moved the corpses to the Regional Government Hospital Mortuary in Makeni for an autopsy to be carried and that he cannot comment further because investigation into the matter is still in progress.

Meanwhile, AWE-Media.SL has learned that since the corpse was discovered in the last 48 hours plus, there is still no body that has showed up as arelative, friend or an associate to the abandoned male corpse.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
