“Marhaba” unveiled as official match ball for CHAN Tourney

In collaboration with Umbro, the Confederation of Africa Football-(CAF) have unveiled “Marhaba” as the official match ball of the delayed 2022, TotalEnergies African Nations Championship. 

“Marhaba” means welcome and CAF say its design,  is inspired by the CHAN and Algerian colours, and it will be used during the opening act of the tournament’s which is underway in the Algerian city of SAL tonight, between hosts Algeria and Libya at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers. 

However, it’s crystal clear now that within and beyond the African continent, sports pundits believed that the name of the ball “Marhaba” which means ‘Welcome’ perfectly suits the growing momentum of the inter-home based national football teams championship.
