Bo Rangers coach Alhaji Foray alias “Abedi” has told Awoko Newspaper he’s set to correct his mistakes that saw his side finished as runners up of the West Africa Champions Cup (WACC) when they face LISCR FC later today in the preliminary qualifiers of the 2023-CAF Champions League.
Foray opened up that not knowing their WACC opponents better was the major deterrent that prevented his side from winning the eight nations regional champions’ cup but for our first leg encounter with LISCR FC from neighbouring in our race to the finals of this year’s CAF continental champions competition will be a different ball game.
“We’ve researched thoroughly about LISCR FC and a lot have been discovered to our advantage, we’re starting off our CAF Champions League double-header against them at home in front of our fans who needed no other result from us other than a win, we’re ready to not only deliver for our fans but the entire Sierra Leone with a resounding victory that will put us ahead of our opponent to advance to the next round of the qualifiers,” Foray said.
Should Foray’s charges pay off against LISCR FC in their double header, he’ll be facing CR Belouizdad, the Algerian side that eliminated Bo Rangers in their debut participation of the CAF Champions League preliminary qualifier last season.
With rising anticipation among the Sierra Leone football family and their Mano River Union (MRU) neighbours of Liberia for the match which is scheduled to kick off at 4pm at the Southern Arena in Bo city, both teams wrapped up their final training sessions at the match venue on Friday are all set to face each other on the faithful Saturday.
Today’s encounter between host Bo Rangers of Sierra Leone and visitors LISCR FC of Liberia, respective champions of their men’s top-flight 2022/23 Leagues is “expected to be a crunch-tie,” some sports pundits say.
