Kallie Bangura marked a sensational fashion hat-trick to give Sierra Leone a pulsating 3-2 win over Syria in today's second rounds at the Potts Park complex.
Sierra Leone were in danger of being held to a draw when Syria equalised (2-2) just after the interval but Bangura provided a neat finish ten minutes from time to earn his side victory.
Sierra Leone will face Lebanon in the quarter-finals of the competition on Sunday at Potts Park complex, Yagoona.
Head coach Yusuf Kamara has warned his side of the dangers of complacency following their poor performance against Syria despite securing a quarter spot.
He said: "Satisfaction can lead to laziness," he warned when addressing his players after the match. He added: "It's going to be a fight and we have to get ready for that fight to get a win in Sunday's fixture. We want to win every game, we want to win this competition but today's performance was below my expectation".
