NERFA Men's and Women's Division One Playoff Finalists Set for Electrifying Clashes

The long awaited day by football fans in the North East Region for the crowning of the men's and women's division one champions, has finally arrived.

This Sunday, Suba United Football Club will go head-to-head with Rising Queens, while Golden Dragons Football Club will take on Kabala City in the 2023/24 NERFA grand finals at Makeni Wusum Stadium.

These four teams have already secured their spots in the 2023/24 National Men’s and Women’s Division One playoffs organized by the Sierra Leone Football Association, which will also serve as the qualifiers for next season’s national men's and women's top-flight leagues. 

According to NERFA Head of Media and Marketing, Fredickson Tejan Fatorma, the anticipated actions will kick-off at 1:30 PM in the afternoon with Suba United facing Rising Queens in the Female Division One Grand Final which is believed to test Suba United FC's longstanding hunt for a slot to the national women's top flight.

Golden Dragons FC Latest Starting XI

This afternoon, Suba United will be looking to overcome their Makeni rivals in what promises to be an intense battle bearly three hours to the Men's First Division Grand Final, between Golden Dragons from Tonkolili District and Kabala City from Koinadugu District. 

These match are expected to be attended by various football stakeholders, including SLFA Vice President-1, Harold Nat Johnson, the NERFA has confirmed.

However, expectations are high for these matches amongst the supporters of the four finalists, with Rising Queens aiming to maintain their dominance over Suba United, Golden Dragons on the other hand will look to extend their unbeaten streak of 18 games this season against Kabala City, who also will be seeking to build on their away goal advantage from the semi-finals, where they knocked out Smart Foundation FC. 

Meanwhile, the stage is set for an thrilling day of exciting show of soccer skills by both female and male footballers in the North East Region with two division one champions, a male and a female set to be crowned in front of a passionate crowds at the Makeni Wusum Stadium on Sunday, July 14 this year.
