NSA Boss Apologies to the Nation over AFCON Exit

The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has tendered his unreserved apologies to the people of Sierra Leone for Leone Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.  He made this public appeal  on 98.1's Good Morning Salone programme on Thursday. "On behalf of the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority, I want to unserverdly apologize to the people of Sierra Leone for the inability of the national team to qualify for 2025 AFCON campaign," Dr. Abdulai said. He went on to thank and appreciate the Government of His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio for the uninterrupted financial and moral support given to the sports sector. Ascentonians showcased remarkable consistency, finishing with 10 points from four games. Their record includes three wins and a draw, underscoring their strength and resilience on the field. This impressive run has cemented their place among the league’s top contenders. Rising Queens, on the other hand, displayed a similarly determined performance, winning three of their games to clinch their spot. Despite facing a setback with one loss, their solid track record has proven enough to earn them entry into the Premier League. Both teams have demonstrated their readiness to compete at the highest level in Sierra Leonean women’s football, and fans are eagerly anticipating their performances in the upcoming season.

Sierra Leone Basketball Federation Prepares for Inaugural National League

One of the primary goals discussed was the reintroduction of basketball programs in schools and colleges.
