In a heartwarming demonstration of FERENSOLA’s commitment to nurturing young talent, the organisation’s Leader, Dr. Sheku Sesay, on Sunday, 10th August 2025, made a significant donation to support the educational journey of nine-year-old Bilal L. Marah — a Kuranko pupil who secured the second-highest score nationwide in the 2025 National Primary School Examination (NPSE).

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held in Makeni City, Bombali District, Dr. Sesay described the gesture as a way to “enable a young, upcoming genius to pursue his dream of academic excellence,” noting that Bilal’s performance was an inspiration to the entire Kuranko community.

“This is more than just a gift — it is an investment in the future of our people,” Dr. Sesay said. “Bilal’s remarkable feat brings pride not only to his single-parent father but to Kurankoya as a whole. FERENSOLA will continue to stand by him, monitor his progress, and ensure that his potential is fully realised.”

The event, which drew a large gathering of Kuranko residents, saw Bilal’s father — a school teacher — and grandmother receive the parcel on his behalf. The Ferensola Leader emphasised that this was only “the first step” in what he described as an ongoing commitment to the boy’s education.

In a separate act of compassion, Dr. Sesay visited individuals from Lenkenkoro in Diang Chiefdom who are currently in custody awaiting trial over a land dispute. With strong family ties to Diang, he described the visit as both personal and symbolic of the empathy he holds for his people in difficult times.

Delivering a message of hope, Dr. Sesay encouraged the detainees to remain steadfast and resilient. “This trial will not define your lives,” he assured them. His show of solidarity has since been widely commended as a significant moral boost for those facing the ordeal.

Through both acts, Dr. Sheku Sesay continues to strengthen his reputation as a leader deeply rooted in service, compassion, and the advancement of his people.

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Claim: Soccer World HQ, in a Facebook post , claimed that Senegal is the first African team to beat England and the first to score three goals against them. Verdict: Partly True! Senegal is the first African team to beat England, but not the first to score three goals against them. Full Text The England senior men’s national football team, nicknamed the “Three Lions,” played their first match against Scotland in 1872. That match ended goalless but marked the beginning of an intense soccer rivalry between both nations, dubbed the “Auld Enemy.” Since 1872-2025, the England national team has achieved its 1000-game milestone in November 2019 when they played Montenegro at the Wembley Stadium. England's all-time head-to-head record shows that they’ve played a whopping 1072 matches against 100 countries, won 615 games, drew 255, and lost 200. Senegal, on the other hand, is one of Africa’s most famous football nations, nicknamed the “Lions of Teranga.” In 2002, ...
