Debutant forward Sarah Turay rescues Mean Queens against Victory FC

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  On her debut appearance, gifted female rising forward Sarah Turay made history last Saturday for her new club Mena Queens Football Club of Bombali District as she scored late to restore parity for her side at home against Victory Football Club from Freetown in the National Women’s League. She was making her debut appearance since she joined the Makeni based club on loan from Konsho Football club after missing out from her team’s opening game against Kahulan Queens of Kenema due to delay in the processing of her life card by the league organizers. Youth Groups team-up to rehabilitate deplorable Makeni CBD Road

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  The once deplorable Makeni Central Business District area road on Rogbaneh road by the city’s clock tower was rehabilitated over the weekend by Youth Groups from various areas in Makeni city and its environs who had teamed up with famous businessman and politician Abubakarr “Lamtales” Kamara. The youth groups included youth from the Makama Young Shall Grow Organization, Friends United, Stocco Area and Ade Street Youth Groups that collaborated with members of the Friends of Lamtales to rehabilitate the road on Sunday. The meeting took place at the premises of Pastoral Center on Teko Road in the northeastern regional city of Makeni, where cross section of non-governmental organization for hearing impaired persons in the district had converged to update their leadership about their sufferings and jointly mapped out their strategic plans for the current year and succeeding ones.
