National Women’s Top-Tier: Kabala Albitaya Queens Suffered 2nd straight defeat but skipper Koroma remain hopeful

Koinadugu District based sole representative team at the maiden edition of the National Women’s Premier League Albitaya Queens Football Club was on Sunday dislodged 3-1 in Freetown by their Sierra Leone Police opponent.

Police Women’s FC trios Mabinty Sama, Elfrida George and Messie Swaray goals were enough to secure all three points at home for their side leaving the visitor’s from Kabala heartbroken after losing their second straight match in the ongoing National Women’s Championship, following their 0-1 home defeat to Patricia Umu Strikers of Kambia.

On the day, Albitaya FC’s Promising goal-machine Gbassay Kamara scored the only goal for her side in their 3-1 away defeat to Sierra Leone Police FC, the goal which is now the first goal for team, says she's excited to have netted on her debut appearance in the League after missing out their opening game at home last on 17th October in Kabala.

Regardless of the successive defeats, Albitaya Queens team Captain Fatmata Jaydee Koroma like her Head coach, have told Awoko Newspaper that the two straight defeats they’ve suffered “is not the end of the road for them.  We still have more to offer and our hope to get better as we go into our next matches is high, all we are asking for is continued support from the people of Kabala, Koinadugu District and beyond.”

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
