EBK-Trophy: Battle for top two underway today

Four teams namely Smart Foundation, Urban Football Club, Area Best and Masongbo Football Club will today battle each other in the semifinals of the 2022 Preliminary Qualifiers of the EBK-Trophy.

At 2:00pm local time today, Smart Foundation will lock on with Urban Football Club for the first match while Area Best and debutant Masongbo Football Club will face each other at 4:15pm later today.

The winners of both games will automatically pick up tickets to this year’s group stages of the tournament prosper which is expected to commence in due course, according to the organizers of the yearly tournament sponsored by Honorable Chernor Maju Bah of the All People’s Congress party.

Today’s clashes will bring to end the long walk of what has been described by sports pundits as tournament’s most competitive preliminary qualifiers that featured a record number of 24 teams including AZ-Foundation, Teddy FC, Sowa FC, Panlap FC, Valley Contractors and 19 others.

The top four teams up for today’s contest had a smooth but very competitive journey to progress to the preliminary qualifiers Semifinals which is now believed to have produced the two exciting fixtures lineup on the day.

With both matches set to be hosted at the Wusum Stadium where all the other matches of qualifiers have been played so far, organizers of the tournament have announced an entrance fee of 2 Leones to access the stadium to watch both encounters.
