As organized yearly since the appointment of Bai Sheika Wurie as Head of the Physical Health Division (PHE) in the Bombali District Ministry of Education Office two years ago. The Ministry through its PHE division head and committee members of the Physical Health Education (PHE) Teachers Council has kick starts for the 2018/2019 academic school year Schools Leagues for Secondary Schools in Bombali district.
The football competition for senior secondary schools has officially kick start on Thursday, 1st November, 2018 in the evening hours at the Makeni Wusum mini stadium where the Deputy Director of the Bombali District Ministry of Education office: Agnes K. Mansaray did the kick off at the opening game which was between Saint Francis Secondary School and Ansarul Islamic Secondary School teams all of Makeni which ended up by 3-1 to saint Francis secondary school.
Bai Sheika prior to the school league has revealed to pressmen, that the Senior Secondary Schools football league is playing alongside the Volleyball Competition for both girls and boys and have issued a stern warning to all participating teams to be discipline in all games and also maintain that “The school league is a nationwide league that is powered by the central government through it Education Ministries, and it is only meant for school pupils to play in ensuring that they enjoy their psycho-motive domain".
