Renowned man of God, Philanthropist and Author of popular book: “Under the Mango Tree” and partners: Concord Community Church (CCC) from South Carolina in the United States of America has on Monday 28th October donated school bags, assorted cloths including other learning materials to one hundred and ninety – (190) vulnerable children and have commissioned two newly constructed and well furnished buildings for thirty-eight – (38) Orphans and other vulnerable children at the Frank Vogenitz Children’s Home in Makeni, Bombali District, Northern part of Sierra Leone.
The two building
are both self contained consisting of six rooms and two rooms each which was
funded by South Carolinian, based
Christian Family: Concord Community Church through Makeni based Man of God and
sports personality: Bambay Sawaneh.
The dedication
ceremony of the two new building for Frank Vogenitz Children’s Home attracted
and brought together a huge number of people from mainly Makeni, Freetown and
America including Local Chiefs, Religious Heads, community people, representative
from the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs –
(MSWG&C) among others.
Kristen Vogenitz who represented the family of the Late Frank Vogenitz delivered the key note address during the dedication ceremony. She noted with humility that “the outstanding work Bambay Sawaneh is doing in Sierra Leone especially his pastoral and evangelisms though sports and philanthropy is duly recognized, irrespective of his disability status brother Bambay has been so inspiring since he joined our family and the entire Vogenitz family and co are proud of his work towards children which is one of the main purpose we are gathered here today to celebrate the similar work the late Frank Vogenitz whose son I am married to” she stressed.

Going further, Kristen gave a brief description of the late man of charity: Frank Vogenitz who he described as a powerful scientist, that is very religious and down to hearth character that had always worked throughout his life to improve the living status of the poorest of the poor and mostly children until his last breath on earth.
“Children of this
home even though Frank is lying in his grave now I must tell you that he love
you all and had always wanted to see you grow to become prosperous which we
that are alive will ensure to see such be born into reality” she concluded.
The leader of the
CCC team from the United States of America to Sierra Leone, Larry Reeves in an
interview with this writer noted that CCC as the main donors are excited with
the progress taking place in Makeni at the Frank Vogenitz Memorial Home and
that the team has not only dedicated the two newly constructed buildings but
has also donated school bags, assorted items including cloths and school
materials to 190 vulnerable children including the 38 children the home is
hosting as a display of their continued support to the poorest of the poor in
Makeni and other parts of the world.
Larry called on
others to support CCC’s invested on Bambay’s initiative for the 38 Orphans and
others to be given a new life.
Bambay Sawaneh is the
founder and manager of the Frank Vogenitz Children’s Home in Makeni, Bombali
District, Northern Province of Sierra Leone. He expressed thanks and
appreciations to the CCC and all other partners that are in one way or the
other supporting his vision to nurse and rebrand the lives of Orphans and other
vulnerable children and groups especially to his 38 Orphans residing in his
home.
He maintained that
he is forever thankful; to God for helping him showcase to the world that “Disability is
not Inability” which is why he is focus on spreading the word of
God at the Frank Vogenitz Memorial Home, the Church, communities, his football
team Seattle and every where he finds himself.

overjoyed for reaching this far and I am however opening a call for
partnership, support or more to everyone residing anywhere in the world to come
to my aid and help me in this crusaded in ensuring that orphans and all
vulnerable children enjoys equally like non-vulnerable children” he shared

Sawaneh also
explained that all the 38 orphans residing in Frank Vogenitz
Children’s Home in Makeni, Bombali District, Northern part of Sierra Leone are
attending various schools in Makeni and the all other basic necessities of live
are been provided to them at the home though not affluently and that learning
and sharing the word of God and playing soccer and some other indoor and outdoor
games are key among the hobbies for all the children at the home.
The occasion was
climaxed with performance by the 38 Orphans residing at the home and
distribution of school bags, cloths and assorted items including school
material to 190 vulnerable children.
