By: Sahr J. Bangah
A four years old minor is expected to testify today at the Makeni Magistrate court presided over by Peter Gogra on how the accused sexually fidgeted her in an unfinished house that resulted to blood oozing out from her two legs.

According to the minor’s grandmother, she revealed in court that on the 27th November 2019 at Manokoh village in the Bombali Sherry Chiefdom, Bombali District, she left the victim playing in the veranda of the house and went to attend to the call of nature.

On her return, she could not see the victim and immediately she raised an alarm which prompted the neighbors to go in search of the minor who they later discovered by one Abdul Kamara in an unfinished house with the accused sexually fidgeting her.

She further revealed that seen the ungodly scene, Abdul Kamara shouted loud that attracted neighbors to come to the scene of crime and immediately the accused Saidu Kamara saw them, he decided to run away but was arrested by youth and taken to Manokoh village for questioning and in the process, thick blood stain was spotted in the minor’s pants and blood running down her legs.

The minor was immediately rushed to the Makeni government hospital for medication while the accused was brought to the Mena police station for interrogation.

The accused Saidu Kamara will be arraigned in court for the offence of Sexual Penetration of a Child, contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act, 2012 as repealed and replaced by Section 4 (a) (iii) of the Sexual Offences Amendment Act 2019, Act No.8 of 2019.

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
