Former Opposition MP Hon. Siraj makes Shocking Revelations of New NSA Boss

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson

Former Opposition Party MP

After the recent change in leadership at the National Sports Authority (NSA), Honorable Siraji Rollings-Kamara, a passionate sports enthusiast and former Member of Parliament, has impressed the sports community with his praise for the new Executive Director, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq (Ph.D) who took over the reins from Dr. Kenneth Briama almost 13 weeks ago.

In a post on Salone Players Watch (SPW), Rollings-Kamara lauded Dr. Abdulai as a remarkable leader, describing him as "a skilled individual with the essential qualities of a good leader." The former MP of the opposition APC party for Constituency 127, who's known for his love for football, posed a rhetorical question in his message: "Do I admire ESA? It's hard to say. Do I have faith in him?" To which he answered affirmatively, "Absolutely, yes!"

Honorable Rollings-Kamara  also shared that he had stopped following the Sierra Leone Premier League matches since Dr. Abdulai was removed as PLB Chairman. He reminisced about the impactful year when Dr. Abdulai served as the Chairman, stating that it was truly remarkable.

According to the former MP, the success of the NSA under Dr. Abdulai's leadership can be attributed to his exceptional qualities - knowledge, passion, and skill. He highlighted that Dr. Abdulai possesses all three qualities and seems to be working tirelessly to achieve his goals.

Honorable Rollings-Kamara emphasized that Dr. Abdulai has brought about a positive change and urged everyone to acknowledge and appreciate his efforts.

He disclosed that he no longer tunes in to the Sierra Leone Premier League games ever since the current NSA Boss was removed as the PLB Chairman, praising Dr. Abdulai's impactful one-year tenure as the head of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, calling it outstanding.

Furthermore, the former MP explained that the success of the NSA Boss can be attributed to his possession of the 3Hs - Head, Heart, and Hands. The "Head" represents knowledge, the "Heart" signifies passion, and the "Hand" symbolizes ability. ESA possesses all three qualities and seems to be racing against time to make a difference in the sports sector. He urged everyone not to accept the current state of affairs as normal, emphasizing that ESA has brought a positive change that is unmistakable.

The former MP praised ESA for his transformative leadership in sports, comparing him to a revolution in the industry. He encouraged him to continue making strides like "Johnny Walker" and wished him continued success.

However, the former MP's endorsement of Lawyer Abdulai was supported by other members of the Sierra Leone sports community, including the NSA Spokesman Eric Batilo Fomba who welcomed the unity and support for sport development in the country.

Dr. Abdulai, in response to the commendations from Honorable Rollings-Kamara, reiterated his commitment to motivating NSA staff to enhance their productivity and create a safe space for young athletes.

Meanwhile, Dr. Abdulai's latest strides in his first 75 days as NSA Boss aligns with the agency's mandate to promote, develop, and supervise all sports activities in Sierra Leone, reflecting the agency's goal to support athletes and promote sports at all levels.

Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
