Wusum Stars Versus E.E. Lions Football Club Match Preview

By Umaro Saidu Turay. Wusum Stars Football club host E.E Lions Football in match day -2 of the Leone Rock Premier League 2024/2025 season. Coach Abdul Bangura's team found form last weekend with a 1-1 draw to Fc Kallon in Freetown cut of Alimammy Buya Kamara whose world class finished wasn't enough to seal their first win of the campaign after Fc Kallon sealed an equalizing goal from the spot kick as a result of an handball offence committed by Wusum Stars at the end tale fo the match. AISPO Honours 31 Voluntary Blood Donors Honored in Bombali

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AISPO), a prominent non-governmental organization dedicated to combating poverty, social injustice, and diseases affecting the most vulnerable populations in Sierra Leone and worldwide, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS), has recognized 31 regular voluntary blood donors in Bombali district for their altruistic contributions to saving lives. Among the honourees are Alhaji Osman Jalloh, who has donated blood 61 times, Martin Lamin Kotay with 55 donations, and Mohamed Lamin Bangura and Ibrahim Sorie Koroma, each with 54 donations. Additionally, 27 other donors have each contributed blood at least 18 times. MFWA Announces Sierra Leonean Lawyer, two other speakers for "How to Avoid a Lawsuit" virtual Worship

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  Rising Sierra Leonean lawyer and human rights advocate, Paul Kamara, will be joining forces with colleagues from Gambia and Liberia today at 10:00 AM for a virtual workshop titled “How to Avoid Legal Suits.”  Organized by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), the said workshop is designed to share crucial insights with journalists, human rights defenders, and activists. Kamara, who is also a lecturer at the University of Makeni (UniMak), will be joined by fellow human rights advocates and legal experts, Neneh Cham and Sarnyenneh M. Sierra Leone's U20 dislodged Liberians Senior National in MRU Tourney

By: Umaro Saidu Turay In a highly decisive Match played on Tuesday at the Makeni Wusum Stadium, the Sierra Leone U20 female team (Shooting Starlet) dislodged the Liberians Senior National team 2-0 in match day-2 of 2024 Mano River Union tournament. The hosts, dominated the first half creating several promising opportunities that could have given them an early lead over the visitors but the composure and confidence level of both teams became evident throughout the first half which ended goaless. as they maintained and control the match despite their effort the resilient Liberian team held firm as both team failed to score in the first forty five minutes of action. Mano River Union Female Tournament: Barren start for host

By: Umaro Saidu Turay Following an exciting Mano River Union Female Tournament opening match today at the wusun field in Makeni, Sierra Leone U-20 team held their neighboring counterpart Guinea Senior teams to a goalless draw as both teams showcasing an impressive show piece through out the match. Despite both teams failed to find the ball at the back of the net throughout the match but with great an exhilarating performance which provide a space to a highly competitive tournament ahead. The tournament feature three team across region (Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea ) competing for prestigious award and glory. Sierra Leone will face their neighboring countries Liberia while Guinea will a have a day rest before they face Liberia in the final match.
