Mohammed Kallon: “ Honored to Serve My Country” as Sierra Leone Head Coach

Paine   Sierra Leone's Football Legend Mohammed Kallon has officially accepted the role of head coach for the Sierra Leone national team, starting a new era in the country’s football journey.  In his first statement following the announcement, Kallon expressed his deep sense of duty and patriotism.  ‘ I accept this job because it is my country. It was not an easy decision- there were many considerations- but now we are here. I am honoured to serve Sierra Leone. Coach Mohamed Lamin wins Leone Rock Premier League Coach of the Month

By: Tejan Frederickson Fatorma The head coach of Sierra Leone's most decorated male football club, East End Lions FC, Mohamed Lamin Kamara has been named as the Best Coach of the Month of January in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.  Fondly known as Coach ML, he also doubles as the head coach of the Sierra Leone U20 Shooting Stars. Coach Kamara, a master tactician clinched this accolade with a score of 397 in an opinion poll surpassing notable contenders such as Musa Jalloh, head coach of current league leaders Bhantal FC; Mohamed Kallon, Leone Stars' newly appointed national team coach and CEO/head coach of FC Kallon; and John Keister, Bo Rangers' head coach and former national team coach. In an exciting development, the draw ceremony for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations U20 was held on Thursday at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.  Sierra Leone has been drawn in Group C alongside strong contenders Senegal, Zambia, and Kenya. Group C features two countries from the WAFU A confederation, Sierra Leone and Senegal.  The anticipation is palpable as these teams prepare to face each other once again. Sierra Leone's Shooting Stars Await Group Contenders in the 2025 AFCON U-20 Draw

The U-20 Shooting Stars of Sierra Leone will know their group contenders for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U-20 on Thursday, 13th February.  The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw will take place today at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. The Sierra Leone U-20 team will be making its debut in this prestigious youth continental tournament. Representing the WAFU Zone A region, Sierra Leone will join the current AFCON U-20 defending champions, Senegal, in this year's competition. Sierra Leone Premier League: Youngster Polishes Mighty Blackpool's first win of the season

By: Ibrahim Kanu One of Sierra Leone's most decorated soccer outfit Mighty Blackpool FC made an unprecedented move in the 2024/2024 Leone Rock Premier League of  Sierra Leone after registering their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over one of the national topflight league's new comers, Star Sport Academy. The win was made possible by youngster Salieu M. Conteh's decisve first half goal which eventually earned him the player of the match award. h The "Tis-Tas Boys" win saw them moved five places upwards from 18th to 13th place while holders Bo Rangers FC also knocked Luawa Football club (The Cacao Boys) with a lone goal at home. Low Attendance Grips Rogbaneh Government Municipal Girls School, Makeni Following Unsettling Incident

The incident which took place on Tuesday, January 28, has led to an alarming decline in student attendance at the Rogbaneh Government Municipal Girls School. This all girls learning institution, which gained recognition two years ago as the first science-focused girls' school in the northern region, had an incredible enrollment of 1,000 students across grades JSS-1 to SSS-3 as of January this year. However, in the past 48 hours, attendance has dropped by over 80%. Reverend Mohamed Brown, a senior educator and head of guidance and counseling at the school, confirmed this significant drop in attendance.
