Sierra Leone's U20 Coach Mohamed Lamin invites 21 Foreign-Based Players Invited for AFCON U20 Warn Up



As part of the preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations U20 tournament, Mohamed Lamin Kamara, the head coach of the Sierra Leone U20 football team has invited 21 foreign-based players to join the Shooting Stars' squad. 

This strategic move aims to assemble the best squad ahead of this crucial continental youth tournament ensuring that the team is well-prepared and ready to compete at the highest level.

Coach ML has emphasized the importance of incorporating foreign-based players to add the much-needed experience and bolster the team's intensity. 

By bringing in players who have honed their skills in competitive international environments, the Shooting Stars are expected to benefit from a higher level of play and tactical awareness. 

This in turn, will contribute to the team's overall strength and readiness for the tournament.

Sierra Leone has been drawn in Group C alongside strong contenders Senegal, Zambia, and Kenya. 

The draw was recently conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), setting the stage for a highly competitive group. 

The tournament will be hosted in Ivory Coast from April 26th to May 18th, 2025 and will feature some of the best young talents from across the continent.

The Shooting Stars are currently undergoing intensive training sessions at the SLFA Academy field in Freetown as part of their preparations. 

The Shooting Stars gaffer and his technical staff are dedicated to ensuring that the team is in peak condition and ready to make a strong showing in their AFCON U20 debut.
