The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw will take place today at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The Sierra Leone U-20 team will be making its debut in this prestigious youth continental tournament. Representing the WAFU Zone A region, Sierra Leone will join the current AFCON U-20 defending champions, Senegal, in this year's competition.
The technical team of the Shooting Stars has commenced intensive preparations at the SLFA Academy, initially inviting 50 players for training.
As preparations continue, the squad has been significantly trimmed to ensure only the best talents are selected for the tournament in Ivory Coast.
Head Coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara emphasized the team's commitment to excellence: "We are determined to select the best talents for this tournament. Competing in the AFCON U-20 for the first time, our goal is not just to participate but to qualify and proudly represent Sierra Leone at the FIFA U-20 World Cup."
The team is focused on making a strong debut and showcasing their talents on the continental stage. As the draw approaches, the anticipation and excitement continue to build for the Shooting Stars.
