The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Over Sight Committee on Sports Hon. Mariatu Rachael Pessima has described their roles in sports development as strategic and supportive.  "Our role is to serve as a bridge between Parliament and the NSA. SLAJ President Announces 500 Bags of Rice for Members Ahead of Ramadan and Lent

The announcement was made on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, during the association’s maiden general meeting held at the Harry Yansaneh Multipurpose Hall at the SLAJ Secretariat in Freetown. The meeting was the first general gathering of members since the elective congress held six months ago. President Kamara disclosed that the association’s verified register shows about 499 fully paid members as of 2025, all of whom are eligible to benefit from the donation. EBK-University scraps comprehensive exams, adopts semester-based testing for final-year students

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Final-year students across the three campuses of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST) in Makeni, Port-Loko and Magburaka will no longer sit the traditional Comprehensive Examination starting this academic year, as the university officially transitions to a modular, semester-based assessment system.  This development was confirmed by the institution’s Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Alimamy Larkoh, who said the decision received unanimous approval from the EBKUST’s university senate which is the institution's highest academic authority.  He said the change has been formally communicated to students by the Vice Chancellor and Principal, Edwin J. J.
