2018 Kono District Excellence Awards (KDEA) Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Sahr Eric Mbayo has on 12th October, 2018 explained to AR-Wilson's Entertainment more about Kono District's most anticipated event. The 2018 Kono District Awards of Excellence is the first ever event that is aiming at magnifying and strengthening Togetherness amongest the people that are linked to any of the fourteen (14) Chiefdoms in Kono District said Mbayo.

The bulk of the organisers of the event are all Youths that are working towards revitalizing the palatable taste of the diamond land District in diverse ways but we are starting with this year's Award as a Pilot.

KDEA2018 as seen by many indigenes of the district at both home and abroad is a step in the right direction for elevation in the diamond land and continuity of the Award was assured by the KDEA Founder.

The Award date for this year's KDEA is on Friday 14th December 2018 said Sahr Eric Mbayo.He maintained that: "the event will bring together for the first time in the district's history, institutions and indigenes in different sectors ranging from Education, Health Care, Business, Medicine, Community Service, Cultural Arts, Sciences and more of Kono District and thus to celebrate with them in recognition of their diverse efforts and contributions towards the development of Kono District by extension Sierra Leone. KDEA remains one of the most talked about event at the moment😳
