POEM TITLE: BLEEDING NATION😭😭

BY: ABU BAKARR KAMARA (Dr. Love the Phoenix)

A nation bleeding
Fifty-eight years old, still creeping
Drenched in selfishness, could do nothing to prevent
Bribery and self-interest our daily occurrences
As if there are no more events
Forsaken at the clutches of death
Countrymen busy accumulating wealth

Mouths of pleasantries!
In need of power they come humble at your doorsteps
Reaching their goals unveil their true selves
Go deaf and blind to all the problems
They come empty
Yet project like gods
Robing citizens to poverty
They feel like gods

Ah Sierra Leone!
What a shame on a nation!
Are we happy in this situation?
Country's existence and honor is at stake
Still brave minds are not wake
No one cares for another, survival is at stake
We mourn deaths and celebrate with cake

We expect more suffering if we remain unconcerned
Prioritizing our priorities we should be concerned
Too much promises but who knows when?
Poverty may be lurking from all over then
Politicians become vampires when they're firmly in
Sucking citizens blood like bed bugs living within
Patriotic sacrifices will go in vain if the beasts do not refrain
The country's honour must be saved from financial drain

Oh! You countrymen
Asked not...what country has done for you?
For sacrifice is the only answer that lies with you
Offer yourself the little you can do
Whether you survive or die, honour is due
For your single input may serve a purpose

Stop the politics game and strive to offer the best
Stop the splurge of squandering and deliver the rest.
Under development will be over if we stand the test
The lion mountain is tired, enough is enough
Say no to greed and prove little tough
A change you make today could butter the breads of all
Pride and honor to be preserved and put a smile in all

Salute to the brave - great patriotic citizens
Always ready to die putting the country first for honest reasons
Warning to the vampires of furtherance, we've already learnt our lessons
Time to defend the country
Offer oneself and make the entry
The will is our victory
To redeem our country
Our beloved Sierra Leone.
