Alhaji Musa Mansaray is allegedly believed to be on the run for disclosing the top secret of the land to a non-indigene. This has left the Kamara family of Makeni in Bombali District, Northern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone in a state of dilemma for the demise of their loved ones: Isha Mansaray (daughter), Alhaji’ Musa Mansaray ( son-in – law) and nieces. Pa. Mohamed Conteh aged sixty-two, identified himself to this medium as the uncle of Isha. He disclosed that, his son in law Alhaji Musa Mansaray is a member of the Royal family of Tainkatopa, at Makamma, Safroko Chiefdom. It was the desire of Musa’s father for his son to succeed him as Paramount Chief after his demise. Today, his son Alhaji Musa is alleged missing for fear of losing his life due to the accusation that he has betrayed the culture of secrecy of the land. He recalled that PC Bai Kama Nthnkey II Alhaji Musa’s father said on a local network that: “Our ruling house is at stake, Alhaji has disclosed our secret to a stranger. He has refused to be a man and needs to be purified. I’m worried also that he is on the run. I’ve nothing to do but precedent must be followed and the culture must reign supreme hence, Alhaji has to face the consequences of betraying our culture. Pa. Mohamed further revealed that his niece Isha, had earlier explained her apprehensive state, since her husband, Alhaji Musa Mansaray left home. Communicating to this medium via phone, Isha Mansaray disclosed that her family is now in disarray. She recalled her husband told her about what transpired between himself and his father sometimes in February, 2019 at his royal secret room. “In that room Alhaji was compelled to present a range of ritual items as demanded by the clan, for his fortification and purification to gain superstitious and magical powers. She reiterated that her husband refused to comply by giving the items inclusive of human parts to enable him take over the chieftaincy mantra. She pointed out that her husband’s cousin Alhaji Amadu, a member of the secret society indeed disclosed to his associates all that Alhaji Musa narrated to a non-indigene in his presence, about the secrets of the land. Later, the society men stormed our resident demanding to see my husband who had already gone out for his daily hustling.” In a cold voice, she reminisced that the society men who came to their house were singing songs of war and betrayal. Irked with panic, I ran for safety together with my husband’s relatives. I then saw blazing fire coming from our house, which further frightens me on route to escape from the village, Isha wept while bringing to mind. A 74-year-old native of Makamma village, on condition of anonymity, disclosed to this medium that any male conscript or initiate who betrays, expose top secrets of the society or dodges completion of the societal rites is in breach of the laws and ethics governing the society and will therefore be classified as a traitor to be punished by death with his body mutilated and sacrificed to the evil spirits for appeasement. Before going to press the Kamara family said nobody has confirmed the where about of: their daughter Isha, her husband Alhaji and nieces. This have caused growing concern at family level about their lives with the leaders of the secret society determined to punish the couples for their misconduct as stipulated by the clan.
